Development - Sampling & Production - Long-Term Partnership

Pricing

Senior-led technical pattern development, sampling, and small-batch production - built on a real production process.

Each style is quoted individually. Use these ranges to plan your budget; we confirm a fixed price after reviewing your references.

Every project is directed by the studio's head pattern engineer and is not outsourced.

We limit active projects to maintain technical accuracy and predictable timelines.

Quote turnaround: usually 24-48 hours after we receive your references.

Garment Process technical pattern development

How we support your brand

We handle patterns, sampling and preparation for small runs, so you can focus on design and growing your brand.

•Pattern development and fit refinement (production-ready files)
•Technical foundation setup for brands that want fit consistency and shared blocks across future releases
•Sampling support to validate fit and construction before production
•Small-batch production support (typically 20-50 units per SKU)

How pricing works

Pricing reflects the technical time and construction involved. Garments that look similar can require different amounts of work.

What affects pricing
•Complexity: piece count, lining systems, pockets, closures
•Construction: tailoring, asymmetry, deconstruction, special finishes
•Revisions: included refinement rounds and design changes
•Sizing: number of sizes and grade rule complexity
•Sampling: digital only vs physical sample
•Timeline: standard or priority

Pattern development (1 style / 1 base size)

Ranges are indicative. A lining alone does not automatically place a style in a higher price tier.

Pattern pricing
Clean construction
Typical: tees, shirts (no complex pocket systems), skirts/shorts (incl. simple lining).
€230-€410 / style
Structured / shaped construction
Typical: dresses, trousers, outer layers with more pieces/closures.
from €420 / style
Tailored & statement pieces
Typical: tailored jackets and coats, structured blazers, multi-layer builds.
from €750 / style
Deconstructed / engineered construction
Typical: unusual paneling, asymmetry, unusual construction logic.
from €1,500 / style
What's included
•Digital pattern in one base size, in the agreed format (DXF/PLT)
•Notches, grainlines and construction markings
•Two refinement rounds after feedback
•Final file and sampling or production handoff notes

Grouped development

Grouped development includes one base-size pattern per style. Grading, documentation, sampling and production support are additional. Deconstructed and engineered styles are scoped separately.

View prices and scope
Drop
A focused release developed with aligned fit, proportion, and technical direction across a small number of styles.
Typically covers2-3 styles
Typical range€750-€1,500
Capsule
A cohesive mini-range developed to work together across fit, proportion, and layering.
Typically covers4-10 styles
Typical range€2,450-€5,500
Collection
A broader technical development scope across multiple categories, where consistency must carry through the full range. Best for larger seasonal or category-spanning releases requiring more coordination and technical planning.
Typically covers11+ styles
Starting pointfrom €5,800

Technical Foundation

Not every project needs this. Some brands simply want a clean one-off style; others want stronger consistency across future releases.

This section is for brands that want more technical continuity over time, not a required starting step for every enquiry.

Technical foundation
Technical Setup
An optional setup used when a project needs file intake, syncing, or alignment with existing references before development begins.
€450
•What it covers: file intake, basic sync, and working setup for the first project
•Only used when needed: it is not an automatic first fee on every new enquiry
Core Collection Foundation
A deeper technical foundation for brands that want stronger consistency across capsules, drops, and future collection work.
from €1,500
•What it covers: brand blocks, grade logic, fit logic, and the technical rules that carry across future styles
•Why brands choose it: it reduces fit drift, improves continuity between releases, and makes future development more consistent
•Who it suits: brands that want a stronger long-term system, not just a single style solved in isolation

Small-batch production support

Small runs are quoted individually based on construction, materials, quantity and finishing.

Production details
•Typical runs: 20-50 units per SKU, depending on construction, materials and finishing.
•Mixed sizes are possible. Multiple colors can also be discussed where suitable.
•Prerequisite: approved sample and confirmed materials.
•Client provides fabric and trims unless agreed otherwise.

Reserved studio capacity

For brands with regular releases, we offer reserved capacity and technical continuity between projects.

Support options
Month-to-month. Paid upfront. Pause anytime.
•Consistent blocks and sizing standards
•Priority access to studio time
•More predictable scheduling
Reserved Capacity
Best for brands that need priority access and ongoing technical continuity.
€950 / month
Extended Reserved Capacity
Best for brands needing priority access across multiple styles with ongoing technical continuity.
€1,850 / month
Production Support
For larger collections needing end-to-end technical coordination.
Custom quote / month

Tailored, deconstructed, or unusually complex styles are scoped separately before work begins.

If you're not sure what fits, start with one style - then expand the scope as needed.

How partnerships work

Month-to-month. Paid upfront. Pause anytime. We reserve dedicated studio capacity for you each month so your releases are not dependent on the public queue. If you do not use all capacity, it does not roll over. Structured styles align with the Structured / shaped construction range above; tailored or deconstructed styles and anything outside the monthly scope are quoted for approval before we start.

Sampling & physical iterations

Prices are per style, per iteration, for labour only. Materials and shipping are charged separately at cost.

Sampling pricing
Toile / fit sample (muslin, labor)
€120-€400
Complex construction / structured mock-up (labor)
€190-€600
Small-batch production

Two refinement rounds are included. Additional revisions and design changes are quoted and approved before work begins.

Included revisions

Refinements to:

•Fit + proportion
•Placement adjustments
•Minor construction clarifications

•Adding/removing pocket systems
•Collar/hood redesign
•Silhouette change
•New seam map / major panel changes
•Fabric/structure changes requiring re-engineering

What to send

•Sketch or reference images (front/back if possible)
•Fabric type + weight (or best approximation)
•Target base size + size range (if grading is needed)
•Construction notes (lining, closures, pocket count, finishes)
•Deadline + whether sampling is required
•Any existing blocks/patterns (if you want us to build from them)

Ranges exclude VAT/taxes, materials, shipping, and third-party costs.

Common questions

How much does pattern making cost?

Pattern making cost is quoted individually based on garment type, piece count, construction complexity, fabric, size range, sampling needs, and timeline. After reviewing references, Garment Process usually returns a fixed quote within 24-48 hours.

How is a pattern development quote calculated?

We estimate the technical time needed for pattern development, revisions, grading, sampling, and production handoff. We do not use one public price for every style because garments that look similar can require very different construction work.

Can you quote a capsule or collection?

Yes. A capsule, drop, or collection is scoped as a project based on style count, garment categories, construction complexity, shared blocks, grading, sampling, and technical documentation needs.

Do you support small-batch production?

Yes, for selected projects after the final pattern, sample, and materials are approved. Small-batch production is quoted separately according to quantity, construction, materials, finishing requirements, and timeline.

What should I send to request a quote?

Send references, sketches or photos, target size range, fabric information, deadline, sample requirements, and any existing patterns or tech packs.

How long does it take to receive a quote?

We send a clear quote after reviewing the project scope and required deliverables.
